GDIT’s AbilityFirst ERG established an “All Things Accessible” Council that partners with key stakeholders across the company to infuse accessibility in how they procure and deploy technology. One positive outcome of this Council is a monthly “Accessibility Tip” offered by their Communications Department for all employees as they interact with each other and their customers. Examples include making hyperlinks accessible for screen readers, the alternative text field when adding photos for all images writing at an appropriate level for ease of comprehension, and an accessible meeting guide which has been downloaded by employees nearly 4,000 times.
