February Series
We are launching our monthly Accessibility Highlights from our Chief Accessibility Officer, Jeff Wissel, and our Accessibility Resource, Lainey Feingold. At Disability:IN, we know that digital accessibility impacts all aspects of disability inclusion. If you have questions about our digital accessibility program, please contact Jeff Wissel.
Digital Accessibility Conferences
Two accessibility conferences are coming up in March. Disability:IN’s digital accessibility resource Lainey Feingold will be speaking at both.
- Axe-Con, a free online digital accessibility conference sponsored by web accessibility consultancy Deque
- CSUN, long-running international accessibility conference sponsored by California State University, North Ridge.
Digital Accessibility Resources
The Disability:IN Digital Accessibility team knows that the number of accessibility resources can be overwhelming. Each month we share just a few of the many free resources from sources outside of Disability:IN. Visit the Disability:IN Resources Library where you can filter resources created by Disability:IN and our partners for accessibility.
External resource suggestions for this month are:
- Quick Accessibility Tests Anyone Can Do: Easy to follow tests developed by TetraLogical, an accessibility consultancy based in the UK and working around the globe. Great tips for anyone in an organization to learn a little more about accessibility while performing helpful tests.
- Teach Access Accessibility Skills Hiring Toolkit: Offering job description language and interview questions for a dozen digital accessibility roles. Created by the non-profit Teach Access.
- The Overlay Factsheet, a collection of resources and media articles describing problems with web accessibility overlays claiming to provide website accessibility.
