Stellantis champions disability inclusion, increasing mobility accessibility for all “Powered by our diversity, we lead the way the world moves.”

This motto encapsulates the driving force behind Stellantis’ commitment to diversity and inclusion. A leading global automaker and mobility provider, Stellantis was formed in January 2021 through the merger of Groupe PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The maker of iconic brands, including Jeep®, Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, FIAT, and Alfa Romeo, Stellantis is about more than transportation; it is about moving people and making connections, especially for those with disabilities.

“Providing a workplace that is inclusive and inviting for all is paramount to our success and key to who we are as a company,” said Tobin J. Williams, senior vice president for human resources, Stellantis North America. “As an industry leader in supporting diversity, we will not settle to simply maintain the status quo, but remain dedicated to forging ahead in creating a work culture that enables each of our employees to realize their full potential.”

In 2023, Chrysler and the Autism Society of America announced a new long-term partnership that supports the driving needs of individuals with autism and their loved ones. Through the creation of Calm Cabin – an accessories package that helps those with autism feel calm, safe and comfortable – any Chrysler Pacifica can be transformed into a sensory-supported mobile experience, with details such as a meditative light and sound therapy machine that includes a breathing coaching feature, a soft-touch seat belt sleeve, and a weighted sensory blanket to facilitate a more relaxing travel experience.

In August of 2023, the Chrysler brand announced the donation of a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica minivan and two Calm Cabin packages to Michigan State University’s Safe Ride program, providing safe area travel for students in need and aligning with MSU’s commitment to support a diverse population, including neurodivergent students. Earlier this year, Chrysler delivered three 2024 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles for use in the Autism Society’s Road to Acceptance project. And throughout 2023, Chrysler staged Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid ride-and-drive experiential events throughout the U.S., with the brand contributing $50 to the Autism Society for each participant, resulting in an overall donation of $100,000 to the organization.

A vital source fueling the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is its 11 business resource groups (BRG) representing a range of affinity communities, connecting employees and providing leadership on mentoring and development programs, as well as engagement with diverse communities and issues. One such group is the DIVERSE•abilities Network, with a mission to create and sustain a diverse and inclusive environment that actively supports and respects employees with disabilities, employees who are caregivers of family members with disabilities, and employees responsible for the care of an elder loved one. The DIVERSE•abilities Network was launched in the United States in 2019, and has recently incorporated a global chapter, inviting Stellantis employees from all regions of the Company to participate and promote disability inclusion everywhere Stellantis does business.

“As an employer, Stellantis is committed to advocating for all of its employees, including those with disabilities,” said Romulo Garcia, Stellantis employee and U.S. DIVERSE•abilities Network BRG president. “By empowering everyone, the company makes itself stronger and our employees are creating lifelong connections which helps build more supportive communities within.”
