Disability:IN North Carolina is proud to announce the keynote speaker for our 2021 Wellness@Work event, honoring mental health awareness month. This virtual conference is scheduled for May 5, 2021 from 9am to 11:30am. Dr. Nicole French is a licensed clinical psychologist in North Carolina, where she lives and practices her profession as the Clinical Director at Veterans Bridge Home, a Community Behavioral Health Consultant, and a Uniformed Army Reserve Psychologist.

While on active duty for 9.5 years, she worked with highly qualified and talented professionals from diverse disciplines and garnered clinical, consultation, crisis intervention and leadership experience across combat, field, and clinical settings. Nicole is inspired by findings in interpersonal neuroscience which offer considerable hope and advanced understanding of our biological capacity for healing and transformation. These findings influence the way she lives and practices her profession.

Dr. French enjoys walking meetings, international travel experiences, and practicing deep stretch yoga. Dr. French works closely with local healthcare providers across health systems and community service providers across social determinants of health in support of local and statewide public health initiatives focused on promoting resilience and reducing military and veteran suicide.

Following the keynote address, Dr. French will lead a discussion with a panel of diverse individuals willing to share how their life experiences from a military and civilian perspective, inform their approach to life challenges and the wins they have found along the way.

2020 was a challenging year that required all of us to find new ways to exercise resilience. Disability:IN North Carolina is excited to build our Wellness@Work event around how businesses and individuals can master new strategies to encourage resilience and recovery.
