2024 Impact Report

Community by the Numbers

A Note from Jill

2024 was a year of transformative progress in our journey to accelerate disability inclusion and accessibility through the power of business. As we reflect on this year’s achievements, one thing is clear: none of it is possible without you.

Earlier this year, we identified five key actions that companies and individuals can take to advance disability inclusion in business:

Implement a confidential and voluntary process for employees to self-identify as individuals with disabilities, enabling accurate tracking and improved workforce support.

  • The On the Verge Research Series examined disability disclosure data from top performing companies in the U.S. and Europe. The data reveals that, together, market pressures and regulatory modernization are driving disability data into public workforce disclosures.
  • Across the world, the workforce is seeing an influx of talent with disabilities, as evidenced by the percentage of new hires who are self-identifying their disability status during onboarding. While these numbers are incremental, and we know that disability remains drastically under-reported, they signal a promising universal shift.
  • As of December 2024, 425K people with disabilities were hired through Inclusion Works since 2014.
  • 800+ CVs from talent with disabilities across 60+ countries added to the Disability:IN Resume Database to help companies identify potential candidates.

Utilize the cross-functional expertise and lived experiences of employee resource groups to gain valuable insights and enhance inclusivity strategies.

  • In 2024, Disability:IN’s ERG/BRG Leadership Committee grew to 616 members- accounting for 17% of all Disability:IN Committee members.
  • We also released an updated ERG/BRG toolkit to empower companies to create and sustain their own disability-focused employee/business resource group.

Audit for compliance under World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 AA (W3C WCAG 2.2 AA) to guarantee that digital content is accessible to all users.

  • Procure Access brings together companies to recognize the importance of buying and selling technology that is accessible to people with disabilities. 38 leading companies have now signed the Procure Access Statement.
  • Earlier this year, Disability:IN’s CMO & CCO Coalition unveiled a resource hub to accelerate accessibility in marketing & communications.

Revise corporate governance charters to include prospective directors with disabilities in the definition of board diversity as most already do with gender, race, and ethnicity.

  • White and Case: Disability:IN created research partnership with White & Case, a law firm that operates in 46 offices across 31 countries, has a reported revenue of approximately $2.95 billion, and consistently ranks among the top firms for diversity in the United States.
  • Windō: Windō is a platform that connects job seekers with employers as well as providing comprehensive data on companies’ sustainability initiatives, and inclusion efforts. Disability:IN partnered with the platform to release the Disability Transparency Tiles 2024.
  • Invest Ahead: Disability:IN has partnered with Invest Ahead, a national forum of more than 90 institutional investors, state treasures, corporations, professional service firms, advocacy groups, private equity firms, and individuals dedicated to corporate board diversity.

  • As of December 2024, 824 Disability-Owned Business Enterprises (DOBEs) have been certified by Disability:IN. These DOBEs created 15,000+ jobs and generated $2.6B+ in revenue.
  • 38 companies have signed the Procure Access Statement, committing to advance their accessible procurement efforts.

But this is just the beginning. Together, we are poised to lead the next era of corporate disability inclusion. I look forward to the impact we will create in 2025.
