Joan Bohan
As the Disability:IN EMEA Lead Consultant, Joan will work with the Global Workplace Initiatives team to expand Disability:IN’s inclusive programs and impact.
Originally from the Los Angeles area, Joan started her career with KPMG before relocating to Paris, France where she embarked on a 25+ year international career with Disney. While Finance Executive at Disney, Joan personal life propelled her into the world of dyslexia when her son was diagnosed 10 years ago. So inspired by what she learned and the intersection with business, Joan launched a Disney social Intrapreneur venture DYSNIE around Designing from Dyslexia which led to dyslexia inclusive products, content, and policies. And as a member of the Global BERG, Joan helped springboard the initiative globally and expand to wider disability inclusive business initiatives at Disney.
Joan is a First Movers Fellows at the Aspen Institute, a Board Member of WHOLE International Dyslexia Strengths Network and serves an Advisor to Gender Fair and the UN SDSN Diversity, Inclusion & Justice Working group, which focuses on how the Sustainable Development Goals can be used to advance diversity, equity, and justice within the United States.
