Ebony A. Burt is Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Wells Fargo. She is focused on increasing diverse representation at all levels of the company and creating a more inclusive workplace environment across the globe. With approximately 261,000 team members, Ebony is responsible for shaping the internal diversity, equity and inclusion strategy to continuously improve engagement, drive a people first culture where every person can thrive.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Ebony was the President of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. She led the company’s philanthropic strategy and Signature programs Neighborhood Builders®, Neighborhood Champions and Student Leaders®, which recognize the community leadership and service of nonprofit organizations and students across the U.S. To date, these programs have supported more than 1,400 local non-profits, the leadership development of 2,800 non-profit executives and workforce development of nearly 4,000 students. Burt is also responsible for Better Money Habits Champions, which supports the company’s purpose to improve financial lives and economic mobility.

Ebony also led Bank of America’s, five-year racial equality commitment to accelerate work that addresses barriers to economic mobility for people and communities of color. As part of this work, she led the investment of $430 million to more than 130 private-equity funds to provide capital to diverse entrepreneurs and small-business owners. Burt also helped develop the bank’s Signature Jobs initiative to create livable wage jobs for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and community colleges across the country.

She serves as a national board member for Disability:IN, the Board of Visitors for the School of Business at North Carolina A&T State University and the state board chair for the TELUS North Carolina Community Board. Her service to these organizations is rooted in her commitment to transform approaches to student achievement, career success and improving generational socioeconomic status in underserved communities.

She is a proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University where she holds a BA degree in English and History.
