Just Released: New Research on Upcoming Disability Disclosure Legislation in the EU
There are three new government directives that apply to companies doing business in the European Union (EU). All three of them impact people with disabilities and their involvement in the economy in important ways. For the first time, disability is now officially recognized as a sustainability matter for companies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Accessibility Updates and New Features
Making Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 more accessible makes it easier for more players to jump into the game, which is why innovating and introducing accessibility options across Call of Duty has always been a priority. The accessibility settings menu is accessed by nearly half of all players, and with the launch of Black Ops 6, we’re excited to share even more accessibility updates and new features which will allow players to further customize their experience.
Amtrak and Partners Complete Accessibility and Platform Improvements at Westport Station

Everybody benefits’: Why the beauty industry needs to get serious about accessible packaging
Rahning noted that some companies in the personal care space are making more noticeable efforts when it comes to increasing product accessibility. For example, Procter & Gamble has taken steps to add tactile indentations and symbols to products like shampoo, conditioner, and laundry detergent pods to help low-vision and blind individuals identify the products. But the prestige beauty space has been slower to adopt tools to make packaging more accessible, Rahning said.
IOS 18.1 Launches Next Week with Apple Intelligence And AirPods Pro Hearing Tests And Aids
Let’s start with the hearing aids. Since late 2022, companies have been allowed to sell hearing aids over the counter. Apple announced the new feature at its September keynote event with the FDA approving it for use just a few days later. It involves a test that lets people know if they might have hearing loss and, if you do, it recommends going for a professional exam. It will also allow people to set their AirPods up as hearing aids.

Uber Launches Improvements To Boost Accessibility

Transposition of the European Accessibility Act into Portuguese law
Directive (EU) 2019/882 [1], also known as the European Accessibility Act, aims to improve the accessibility of products and services in the European Union by ensuring that people with special needs can achieve greater social and economic integration.
In Portugal, Directive 2019/882 was transposed into national law through Decree-Law 82/2022[4]. This Decree-Law establishes minimum accessibility requirements for various products and services, including audiovisual communication, thus promoting more inclusive access to audiovisual content.
