Disability:IN proudly celebrates two powerful milestones in advancing disability inclusion in business: 15 years of the Supplier Inclusion Program and the certification of our 1,000th Disability-Owned Business Enterprise® (DOBE®).

What began as a small, ambitious initiative to empower entrepreneurs with disabilities to grow and thrive has grown into an engine for opportunity and innovation within the global business community

Innovation in Action

Over the past 15 years, certified Disability-Owned Business Enterprises have reshaped industries and driven innovation across sectors. Led by entrepreneurs with disabilities, these businesses bring unique perspectives and problem-solving approaches that inform design, operations, and strategy- resulting in solutions that benefit all customers.

From professional and commercial services to technology, construction, and manufacturing, DOBEs collectively generate over $5 billion in revenue and support more than 21,000 jobs. Notably, 82% of DOBEs hire above the national median, creating a ripple effect that delivers competitive, meaningful employment for people with disabilities.

"Being a certified DOBE has helped us grow and achieve success because of a few different reasons. Networking has been a massive part of our success and being a certified DOBE has opened doors to people who have given us insight and mentorship.” -Calvin Harris Reveille Trading Company

Measuring Economic Impact

To mark this milestone, Disability:IN has released the Disability-Owned Business Enterprise (DOBE) Economic Impact Report, which quantifies the collective economic power of certified disability-owned businesses.

The findings show that empowering disability-owned enterprises contributes to stronger communities, global economic resilience, expanded markets, and long-term growth.

"Being the very first certified DOBE is something I am so proud of because I have seen the power and success of disability owners. Disability:IN is focused on increasing success and more customer engagement for entrepreneurs with disabilities." – Joyce Bender, Bender Consulting Services, Inc.
