May is both Asian Pacific American Heritage Month as well as Mental Health Awareness Month. While data indicates the incidence rate of mental health disabilities among Asian Americans is 16.4% compared with 23.9% of White Americans, Asian Americans are reported to be 60% less likely to receive mental health treatment than their White counterparts.
