Coming Out Day is observed each Oct. 11 across the LGBTQIA+ community to offer support for individuals who are “coming out of the closet” to reveal their gender identity and/or sexual orientation to family, friends and colleagues. The experience of “coming out” for people with non-apparent disabilities is often described as having some of the same psychological and social aspects. This webinar will examine the similarities in the “coming out” experience as shared by LGBTQIA+ individuals with disabilities while also exploring other aspects at the intersection of the disability and LGBTQIA+ communities.
