Louis Olander, Ph.D.

Louis Olander, Ph.D. is Director of Research and Veterans’ Initiatives at Disability:IN. Louis served as a combat medic in the New York National Guard’s Fighting 69th Infantry, including a tour in Iraq. After separating from the US Army in 2007, Louis became an urban public special education teacher in New York City. His doctoral research looked at methodological considerations and organizational approaches to promoting disability inclusion in underfunded and racially segregated public schools. He lives in Yonkers, New York with his family.
