Bio

Karen Sharland is a Senior Director at TIAA who leads a revenue/fee management team for the institutional business ensuring that plan sponsors meet their fee related fiduciary responsibilities and fees are accurate to plan sponsors and participants. Prior to TIAA, Karen has had a breadth of experience across many functions, including Operations, Program Management, Finance and HR in the Financial Services and Healthcare industries, leading teams at Fidelity Investments, Tufts Medical Center and Centering Healthcare Institute.

Karen is also the co-chair for the TWS/Regional chapter of the Diverse Abilities BRG at TIAA and is passionate about disability inclusion.  Her son was diagnosed with learning disabilities at an early age and then was diagnosed with PDD-NOS at age 11 which is now considered part of the autism spectrum.

Karen is a trained Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a BS in Finance from Bentley University.
