While preparing to start his senior year as a right tackle with the Crimson Tide football team, Kareem was in a serious car accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down and a double amputee.
Since then, Kareem’s journey to employment has been one of challenges, opportunities, and inspiration.

After recovering from a severe infection, at the young age of 14, Gail Smith completely lost her vision and had to re-chart her course in life. With a witty sense of humor and unique way of viewing life, Gail shares her journey to employment and how she ended up as the owner of her own business, BrailleSmith.

Kevin Orr October 28, 10:00 CST
Born with a birth defect that caused limited use of his legs, Kevin Orr’s journey to employment started at an early age. Kevin shares his journey from Pelham, Alabama to the 2021 Paralympics games in Tokyo, Japan – and winning two bronze medals at the 1988 Summer Paralympics in between. #inspiration #ndeam2021 #disabilityinclusion #disabilityemployment #firesidechats
