Brian Horn

Brian serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Disability:IN, overseeing Marketing & Communications, Corporate Relations, Research & Policy, Events, HR, IT, Operations, and Legal Affairs. Since joining Disability:IN in 2015, Brian has helped lead several important initiatives including Disability:IN’s re-branding, the development of several strategic planning cycles, the creation of Disability:IN’s first policy agenda, and the construction of internal infrastructure to support the growth of the organization.

Prior to joining Disability:IN, Brian worked at GYMR Public Relations advising clients on strategic communications, media relations and social media strategy. Before that, he served as legislative assistant at the Council on Foundations for several years. Working on the Public Policy and Legal Affairs team, he represented the Council on Capitol Hill and with executive branch departments. He worked daily with Council members to plan and execute their policy advocacy strategy; additionally, he managed relations with the House and Senate Philanthropy Caucuses and helped lead the Council’s disability inclusion initiatives. He began his career working on congressional campaigns, and in the office of U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer.

Brian previously served on the board of directors of the Capital Pride Alliance, the NextGen Chamber of Commerce Advisory Council, and as a volunteer tax preparer with Community Tax Aid in Washington, DC. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and American studies from Hobart College, and a certificate in business fundamentals from the Harvard Business School Online. In 2018, he was named a “Top 40 LGBTQ Leader Under 40” by BEQ Pride Magazine.
