Disability Index Deep Dives
Recognition
The Disability Index covers Culture & Leadership, Enterprise-Wide Access, Employment Practices, Community Engagement, Supply Chain and Accessible Procurement (unweighted). Companies that earn a top score on the Index earn the title of a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion.” The Disability Index was created in 2015 in collaboration with AAPD.
A top score on the Disability Index does not indicate or imply perfection. There is always room to advance disability inclusion regardless of one’s score. A top score indicates adherence to many leading disability inclusion practices.
Top-scoring companies receive*:
- Use of the “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” logo
- Invitation to exclusive networking and recognition events for top-scoring companies
- Assets for digital marketing communications, including a messaging toolkit, press release templates, sample social media posts, and graphics
*NOTE: Participation is always confidential. Public recognition as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” is optional.
