We all have a role to play in building an inclusive global economy. Are you IN? You, your colleagues, and your employees can use this toolkit to show the world you are IN by sharing stories of how your company has advanced disability inclusion in the workplace. These items are suggestions and recommendations. Please feel free to adjust language, create different graphics, or promote on social media in any other way that is aligned with you/your company. Thanks for being IN!

How can I demonstrate that I’m IN?

What is the timeline? The campaign will launch on Tuesday, July 14th and will run into 2021. This is not meant to be just one moment in time, but a movement.

Social Media Graphics

Add the Are You IN? Campaign Facebook Frame to your Profile Picture

Let your network know you’re IN, by updating your profile picture and telling everyone that you’re IN. To do so, simply

  1. Go to your profile on the Facebook app and tap “Edit” on your profile picture.
  2. Then tap “Add Frame”.
  3. Then search for “Are You IN,” click on the frame, select the time frame you want to leave it up, and tap “Use as Profile Picture.”

Add the “IN” stamp to your photo

A simple way to do this is to utilize the free, online tool Canva. Upload both your picture and the ‘stamp image frame’ (PNG version). Feel free to move the ‘stamp’ to the best place on your picture. Download the finished picture!

Use the language below and the letterhead template to create your customized letter. 

Dear XXX,

As a Disability:IN partner, (company name) has experienced the potential for innovation, sustainability, and profit from disability inclusion efforts. However, disability remains the great unknown, largely due to lack of understanding and measurement. 

We will not stop until we have built an inclusive global economy for all. This is why we are joining with Disability:IN to show the world we are IN!

The Are You IN campaign asks Disability:IN partners to share their messaging and encourage industries, such as ours, to join us in the important work.

As our ERG, I’m asking you to help guide our employees and encourage them to visit the Are You IN toolkit and take action. We want them all to share Are You IN messaging and drive people to the site DisabilityIN.org/AreYouIN

I’m also asking you to be some of the first of our employees to join the Are You IN list. It’s very important to me that we represent our commitment to disability inclusion here.

Sunday, July 26th

  • Goal: Raise awareness on disability inclusion and equality. Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act!
  • Actions:
    • First action: make sure you’re IN! Join your peers and add your name: www.DisabilityIN.org/Are-You-IN.
    • Watch “CripCamp: A Disability Revolution”. A movie about how a groundbreaking summer camp galvanized a group of teens with disabilities to help build a movement, forging a new path toward greater equality. Streaming on Netflix.

  • Goal: Learn about the ‘return on investment’ of disability inclusion in business.
  • Action: Download and read Getting to Equal: The Disability Inclusion Advantage, a report developed by Accenture, in partnership with Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities.

Thursday, July 30th

  • Goal: Dig deeper and understand how various industries, and your competitors, are gaining the disability advantage.
  • Action: Download and read the 2020 Disability Equality Index report (available July 13).

Friday, July 31st

  • Goal: Empower peers to take action in their own capacity and role.
  • Action: Engage with your Employee/Business Resource Group to bring the Are You IN? campaign to all employees and increase ERG engagement. Check out our ERG/BRG Resources, which includes a specific ERG/BRG toolkit.
