NEW YORK; Sept. 5, 2019 – Disability:IN, a global non-profit that empowers business to achieve disability inclusion and equality, has named Chad Jerdee – Global Head, Responsible Business, Corporate Sustainability and Citizenship at Accenture – to its board of directors. Jerdee is also the global executive sponsor for persons with disabilities at Accenture and serves on the national board of directors for the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

“Chad’s commitment to the disabilities community and workplace accessibility makes him a wonderful addition to our board of directors, and I’m confident that his appointment will be instrumental to Disability:IN both now and in the future,” said Jill Houghton, Disability:IN CEO & president. “Chad has been dedicated to Disability:IN for several years now, and under his leadership we were able to release a significant piece of thought leadership highlighting the financial benefits of employing, enabling and empowering people with disabilities.”

In October 2018, Accenture partnered with Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities to unveil new research showing that companies that embrace best practices for employing and supporting more persons with disabilities in their workforces have outperformed their peers. The report, entitled “Getting to Equal: The Disability Inclusion Advantage,” found that leading companies for disability employment and inclusion had, on average over a four-year period, 28% higher revenue, double the net income and 30% higher economic profit margins than the other companies in the Disability Equality Index.

Jerdee said, “I’m delighted to join the board of directors for Disability:IN, which has such an important impact on the persons with disabilities community. One of my main initiatives at Accenture has been focusing on eliminating barriers for our people with disabilities — whether physical or mental, visible or non-apparent — through adaptive technologies and accessible solutions. I look forward to helping shape the future course and strategy of Disability:IN and to serving its members with the insights I have gleaned over the course of my career at Accenture and beyond.”

Throughout his career, Jerdee has focused on enabling Accenture to grow sustainably and responsibly, with a commitment to the company’s people, values and culture of compliance. In his leadership roles prior to serving as general counsel, Jerdee helped Accenture expand into new areas of growth by leading its largest and most complex transactions, and he also led global legal support for Accenture’s client-facing business, including, sales, solution development and client-delivery teams.

An adaptive sports athlete, Jerdee enjoys downhill skiing, backpacking, running, cycling and swimming. As an amputee who lost his lower left leg as the result of a head-on collision with a drunk driver, Jerdee focuses on paying it forward to the persons with disabilities community.
